2010 Begins now
AP Wire: The clubhouse is empty and the lineup cards from 2009 are still posted on the bulletin board. In the coming weeks, the maintenance crew will be clearing away the debris from last season and preparing the clubhouse for the arrival of our pitchers and catchers. Spring training is just around the corner for Barons nation and the hot stove discussions are heating up.
Expected back on the roster is sparkplug outfielder Todd MacArthur assuming he makes the final roster cut expected to take place March 1st. The Barons lost catcher Lanny Lawrence who was promoted to Triple A Omaha to start the 2010 campaign. The core group of starters however has returned for another run. All contracts have been executed and the Barons expect to fill 1-2 more roster spots after an invite only tryout in February.
Team executives have scheduled a private 2010 planning meeting at an undisclosed location in February.
In other news, 2 more franchises have been added to the league's open division for 2010. |
