2009 Playoffs Begin Sunday
Frisco Online - The Dallas Barons will begin their quest towards another NTAMBL Championship this Sunday at 4PM at beautiful Jesuit High School Stadium and Bus Depot versus the talented Dallas Dodgers. After the regular season wrapped up last night the Barons found themselves third in the regular season standings and will play host to the sixth seed Dodgers in a best of three first round. The Barons swept the regular season series with the Dodgers but the games were all tightly contested. "It should be a great series," remarked Barons' manager Travis Arbogast. "They are a scrappy bunch of guys that always play us really tough. Just look at our last game versus them where it took a 2 out hit in the bottom of the 7th for us to win." The Barons will hand the ball to left handed ace, and league leader in wins, Pete Terrana in game #1. "There is no one else in the league I rather have on the bump to start the playoffs than Pete. I know he'll be ready to go out there and compete and give us a chance to win" said injured Baron EH J Giager.
Game #2 will be Wednesday night at 7PM at historic Reverchon Park in downtown Dallas. Travis Arbogast is suspected to get the starting nod if he is not ejected by the field crew before the game. "That game will be fun for a plethora of reasons, " said Barons slugger Brent Huddleston, ESQ. "Not only is it a playoff game, our first game back at Reverchon, and a potential series clinching game, but there is also the possibility of someone smoking on the field and constantly interrupting the game for no reason. Nothing says "playoffs" like a Marlboro - just ask Jim Leyland."
