Barons Lose Part II
AP Wire --- Barons lose again...
The Barons took another one on the chin last night in a 2-1 loss to the Buffalo. After earning a gutsy 1-1 tie with a Robbie Estill SAC fly in the last inning, it was decided to break the kiss-your-sister tie, and play one more. The Buffalo came up with an unearned run in the top half and the Barons couldn't scratch another one out in the bottom frame. "Another tough one. The bats have gone-a-silent here lately. Intensity level and effort was much better than Sunday, that's for sure, but the hits just didn't come tonight." said manager and Pulitzer Prize winning beat reporter Travis Arbogast. He continued, "Brevity is a strength of mine, sometimes I simply report the facts, and the facts only. When the details are too tough to stomach, I go with the Joe Friday approach, just the facts."
On a much more important note, James Gardner's second inning dribbler to shortstop was subsequently ruled a hit after the game.
Pete Terrana was unfairly hit with the loss after pitching a gem. Terrana went 8 innings, struck out seven, and was dinged with two unearned runs. "That's baseball for you. I didn't pitch as well last time out against these guys, and the team bailed me out scoring 11 runs." remarked Terrana.
The team hopes to turn things around this Sunday vs. the Modoc at Jesuit Field for a 1pm first pitch. Let's hope there's not a Part III to this masterful chain of in-depth journalistic correspondence. |
